Editorial & Verification Methodology

Last updated: 2026-07-22

Our editorial principles

CaribbeanMedicalSchools.com is an independent information portal. We are not a medical school, admissions agency, or accrediting body. We do not accept payment from schools to influence rankings, verification badges, or the content of a profile. Advertising and lead-generation partnerships, when present, are disclosed and never affect editorial judgment.

What we will never do

  • Invent tuition, outcomes, accreditations, hospital affiliations, rankings, or licensing eligibility.
  • Present marketing copy from a school as verified fact.
  • Sell placement or ranking in our directory or comparison tools.

Sourcing rules

Every factual claim on a school profile must trace back to at least one of the following:

  • The school's own official website, prospectus, or student handbook.
  • A recognized accreditor (CAAM-HP, ACCM, NVAO, WFME registry, ECFMG, LCME).
  • A government registry (US Department of Education, state medical boards, USMLE/NRMP reports).
  • Peer-reviewed research or reputable long-form journalism.

Where a claim cannot be verified against one of these, it is either omitted or clearly marked as reported / unverified.

Data year & last-verified date

Tuition, cohort size, USMLE and Match outcomes, and accreditation status all carry a data year and a last-verified timestamp on the school profile. If a data point is older than 18 months, we flag it for re-verification. Where the school has not published fresh numbers, we mark the field as "not disclosed" rather than reuse stale figures.

Verification workflow

  1. Initial research. An editor drafts the profile from public sources, tagging every claim with a citation.
  2. Cross-check. A second editor independently verifies accreditation, USMLE reporting, and residency outcomes against primary sources.
  3. School review. Schools are invited to review the draft profile and flag factual errors before publication. They cannot rewrite editorial commentary.
  4. Publication. The profile goes live with the verified badge, source list, and last-verified date.
  5. Re-verification. Profiles are re-reviewed at least every 12 months, or immediately when a reader submits a correction with a source.

Corrections policy

If any information on this site is wrong, please tell us. Send corrections through the contact page with a source (a school URL, accreditor entry, or public document). We aim to review corrections within 5 business days. Material changes are logged with the date and the nature of the change on the affected profile.

Rankings & comparisons

We do not publish a single overall ranking of Caribbean medical schools. Any ordering you see is based on the specific filters you apply - tuition, accreditation, Match outcomes, location - and is disclosed in-page. Comparisons use identical, dated data points for every school in the set.

Reader-generated content

Reader reviews, when enabled, are moderated. We remove content that is defamatory, contains personal data, or that we cannot verify came from a genuine student or alumnus. School responses to reader reviews are published unedited alongside the original.
