About Anton de Kom Universiteit van Suriname
The University of Suriname is the first School to the community in relationship with its centennial birthday on May 8, 1966. There were already higher education schools, which includes the Medical and the Law School. There were also programs for the training of surveyors, pharmacy technician, oral and notary public structured, but they are not a University.
The School started on Nov 1, 1968 with one department that is the Suriname Law School within the Faculty of Law. Although the Healthcare School is older than the Law School, it is the main element of the university than the medical faculty.
